"Official" Biography:
Me and You Japanese met while sharing bunkbeds on a commune in Nova Scotia, Canada. Their days at the commune were numbered, however, since neither of them liked the communal showers or toilet cleaning duties. To avoid both, they decided to join the cult of space ships and robots down the road. Here they lived happily for two weeks, until the promised space ships never arrived and the elders became bossy. You and Me then headed to St. John's where a fisherman told them the best place for people escaping mad cult leaders/robots was Japan. So off to Tokyo they went. In Japan, You and Me wrote witty and cheerful songs for game shows and commercials. When their creative pool dried up they moved back to Canada and founded the collective "Japanese Pop Songs."
FAQ (Your Questions Answered):
Q. I'm a radio DJ in Botswana and I want to play one of your songs on my program. How can I do this?
A. If you are a public or non commercial/non profit radio station, just download whatever song you want, you don't need our permission. If you are a pirate radio DJ working out of your closet, you don't need our permission. If you are none of the latter, then you will need our permission.
Q. We heard you on CBC Radio. Does that mean you slept with someone over there?
A. No, unforuntely we have not had the pleasure of sleeping with anyone at CBC. But we are huge fans of the CBC and it's an honour to be played on any of their shows.
Q. I want to be an HONORARY MEMBER! How can I become a Japanese Pop Songs honorary member?
A. We love expanding our band and if you want in, then we want you in. There are 3 simple requirements. Go to our myspace page to find out how you can join the band.
A. Will you ever tour?
Q. Touring requires logistics and expensive equipment (van included), which for the moment we do not possess. We would love to tour and we are working on it.
Q. I write for a ‘zine/I’m writing an essay for English class, can I interview/write about the band/review the albums?
A. Yes, you can. You will need a pen and paper. If you need to contact us with specific questions, just email us.
